Currently we are able to handle pickups from addresses in Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan.

If you're elsewhere in the Greater New York City area and are interested in organizing a pickup in your community (school, building, office, etc.) please reach out to us here!

If you live elsewhere, check out our mail in option!

We'll reach out by email to schedule your pickup within about one week of your request. The message will come from hello@choosecarousel.com.

Please note that pickups are during business hours. They can be left at a secure location for us to pick up, like in your lobby or with your doorman, or we can meet you at your door.

You can include baby and children's items up to size 8 (medium) of any season in the following categories:

• clothing
• light outerwear
• fabric accessories like hats and tights
• swimsuits
• princess and superhero costumes

At this time we are unable to accept socks and footwear.

Items should be clean and in good condition, free of rips, stains or other major wear.

We accept styles from a very broad range of brands as long as they are in good condition (no stains, rips or excessive wear).

We love to receive trades that include items from both everyday and premium brands, a mix that powers our signature capsules.

Trading in higher value items unlocks perks in our circular system. More details coming in February 2026!

They just don't count towards the discount because of the costs we'll incur to store them or pass them along responsibly.

Yes, we are working to provide a number of benefits to all families that trade in higher-value and premium brand items with us.

Don't get us wrong, if you have clean items in good condition that are currently being accepted by a charity you support, we are all for that!

Our mission is to reduce textile waste, and charitable donations are not the blanket solution to that problem. Many charities receive more donations than they can handle, including many items that are unfit for reuse or resale.

Our service is something to consider if at least one of the following applies:

• you support our mission to reduce textile waste
• you have great items in good condition from everyday brands with little to no resale value
• you want to go circular by trading in your items for a discount with us

If you have mostly high-ticket, premium items, the resale route may be good for you!

We've found that most families have a mix of everyday and premium items, which end up consuming a lot of time to re-sell for very little value (we've been there!)

So trading with Carousel might be a good option for you if:

• you have a mix of everyday and premium items
• you don't have the time to manage the resale process
• you believe in and support our mission

About 5% of traded in items have treatable stains. We are delighted to share that we are able to save most of these for reuse by adding non toxic stain remover, washing in cold water and hanging them to dry.

Items that are in good condition but aren't a match to our style profile will be donated to one of our local NYC charities that provide children's items to families in need.

All outerwear and footwear will be donated or recycled based on condition, as we do not carry those categories at this time.

We recycle textiles that are in poor condition and unfit for reuse.

Recycle them!

For a small fee, you can add them to your pickup for us to handle.
