trade in outgrown for new-to-you
Turn their best outgrown looks into instant credit
Carousel is redesigning kids' fashion for a circular future with the easiest, more rewarding system for modern families
three ways to trade
what you can include
Our business is to make sure as many preloved pieces in great condition find new homes. All traded items should be ready for reuse, with no major stains, rips or other major wear.
-
baby and children's clothing
Clothing and light outerwear up to size 8.
You are welcome to include clothing of any style, category or season made with any material.
-
children's costumes
Dress up outfits for toddlers and children in sizes 3T through size 8.
New project in the works here!
-
textile recycling
For a small fee, we can also pass along clothing no longer suitable for reuse to a textile recycler.
Learn more about this option here.
what earns trade credit
Credit is added to your account instantly when your trade is processed :)
-
unique finds
A 30% commission on special items that can be sold individually, like at a regular children’s secondhand shop.
We love French brands like Petit Bateau, classics like Oshkosh overalls, fun faves like tulle skirts and almost everything made with organic cotton.
-
everyday pieces
A flat fee totaling around $2 - $20 for inexpensive styles in simple silhouettes, like onesies, t-shirts, leggings, etc.
Carousel was founded to create a circular path for these items which typically have very little to no resale value.
what doesn't earn trade credit
We invite you to include any clean baby and children's clothing in your trade because making preloved easier is literally part of our mission. Carousel will rehome as many styles as possible through our own channels. The rest will be passed along to charity and reuse partners.
-
off-season clothing
Spring/Summer items receive payouts from January to June. Fall/Winter items receive payouts from July to December.
-
polyester baby clothes
Any first layer baby clothing (newborn - size 12m) made with more than 5% non-natural fibers.
-
niche styles
This includes most logo items or anything with a specialty design or message, like a "big sister" t-shirt.
-
condition disqualification
Any trade with a substantial amount of items in poor condition will not receive any credit at all.
